Limnit Lipsticks Swatch Fest Part 1

Almost 2 years ago I first encountered Limnit Lipsticks and did a small review and interview with the owner. You can see that post here but be warned, you about to delve into the realm of unfocused swatches and bad lighting. It is amazing the difference 2 years can make in terms of photographic skills! So I thought it was time to do an updated Limnit Lipsticks encounter. I currently own the entire collection, so this swatch fest will be split into 3 so that there isn’t a lipstick overload.

I have been doing a little rainbow experiment on Instagram which is heavily featuring Limnit Lipsticks, so for part one I am going to swatch the rainbow! The shades I am using today are:

Now before we get into the lip swatches, I need to tell you about “Between The Lines”. This is probably the best yellow lip product in my collection. I have been on a mission to find a quality yellow lipstick for years. I thought I had found a winner with OCC Lip Tar in “Traffic” but it is a little thin and can take a while to get a solid coverage. This one from Limnit is thick, creamy and incredibly pigmented. One swipe of a brush as all your natural lips are gone! But that pigmentation and coverage is not limited to “Between The Lines”, although I haven’t finished swatching every colour, so far I have not found a shade that lacks in coverage or color payoff.

“Punk´in”

Want to add a hint punk rock attitude to your daily makeup without fear of going too over the top? Then Punkin’ is the shade for you! A bright and bold orange-red, similar to the skin of a ripe pumpkin, Punkin’ will give you a dash of intensity while still being wearable from 9 to 5.

“Between The Lines”

Looking for a quick exit from the straight and narrow? Not a shade for the faint of heart, Between the Lines will take you there in an instant! A golden yellow inspired by the winding road, Between the Lines pairs best with shades of brown, warm reds/oranges, and medium greens.

“The Other Side”

If you’re reading this, you’re considering hopping completely over to The Other Side of the lipstick color spectrum, and I implore you to do so! A bright, grassy green, The Other Side compliments other bold colors and neutrals alike. The ever so slightly cool base imparts more wearability/versatility than typical yellow-based greens.

“Flower Maze”

Eager to take a stroll down the path of unconventional lip colors? Flower Maze is a slightly muted shade of blue that lies somewhere between cornflower and periwinkle. Just slightly to the cool side of neutral, this shade pairs well with pastels, mauves, browns, and greys.

“Bewitching Hour”

Looking to add a kiss of intrigue to your style? Bewitching Hour is a captivating midnight blue. Less severe yet nearly as dramatic as black, it pairs well with blacks, browns, deep reds, jewel greens, and royal purples.

“Abracadabara”

Abracadabra, alakazam, and just like that you’ve taken your look to a whole other level! A slightly warm, deep purple, Alakazam is a nice pop of color to pair with neutrals or similairly deep shades.
